What are Smartsleeves and how do they work?
đź’ˇImportant update: Quizzes are now called Prints
To make our communication clearer, we have changed the names of our materials. Where we previously referred to a“Quiz,” we now call it a“Print.”
In this FAQ, we use the new term, but you may still come across the old name in older videos or manuals.
Smartsleeves are plastic sleeves containing a card that you can use to integrate your own (classroom) material with Picoo. We distinguish between three types of games:
- Games with a "fixed" Smartsleeve design: These are ready-to-play games such as Camelot or Beestenboel. The designs are specific to the game and usually remain the same.
- Games with a "variable" Smartsleeve print: Games such as Double, Three in a Row or Line Run. You decide what goes inside! You can choose one of our ready-made prints or make these games your own by creating a custom print with a theme or educational content.
- Examples, themes:
- Redundant: Zoomed in, zoomed out… Can you spot the right combinations?
- Three in a Row: From small to large, which animal comes first?
- Examples, educational content:
- Redundant: Do you know the answer to these word problems?
- Decimal places: In what order should these decimal numbers be arranged?
- Examples, themes:
- Games that are compatible with Smartsleeves (optional): Games such as Mollenmania, Shopping Race, or Treasure Chest do not require a printout to play, but we do offer optional printouts to enhance the gaming experience.

Here's how it works:Â
- Print out the template and cut along the gray lines. You can also use the included template.
- Fill the sleeves with the print.
- Spread the Smartsleeves across the playing field.
- Start the corresponding game.
- Have fun playing!

A few more tips
Write the number and the game on the back of your prints
- Make it easy for yourself and your colleagues to quickly get started with the printouts you’ve created or printed in the future. Write on the back of each printout which game(s) it’s for and which numbers to use.
Laminate your prints
- Want to enjoy your print for even longer? Laminate it so it won't get ruined by moisture or dirt!
Write on the cards yourself
- Do you have the new Smartsleeves? Then you can write directly on the cards with a whiteboard marker. You can recognize the new version by the hard plastic cards (the old version is made of cardboard with a sticker).
- This is handy if you want to get started quickly and don’t want to print anything out on the computer just yet. Be sure to slide the cards back into their sleeves after writing on them. This will prevent the text from being accidentally wiped off while playing. After you’re done playing, you can easily clean the cards with a cloth.
